Kishore Biyani is the Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Future Group, one of Inida’s leading consumer goods organizations focussed on the food, fashion and homeware segments.
A first-generation entrepreneur, Kishore Biyani started his journey selling stone-wash denim fabric in Mumbai in the 1980s. His dream was of making available to everyone what only the rich could afford. Soon, he would launch his own brands, retail networks and invest heavily in creating the country’s leading consumption ecosystem.
Today, Future Group has a wide portfolio of brands in food, FMCG, fashion and footwear segments that sell across the group’s modern retail networks and other distribution channels. The group’s retail networks attract over 600 million customers and includes some of the country’s most popular chains like Big Bazaar, HyperCity, EasyDay, Nilgiris, Heritage Fresh, Foodworld, Central, Brand Factory, FBB and Home Town. These chains are present in over 400 cities and towns in every state of the country. The group also operates a pan-India logistics network, along with extensive agri-sourcing, food processing and manufacturing facilities across the country.
Kishore has also led Future Group in investing and mentoring a number of supply partners and entrepreneurs as well as joint ventures with British footwear marker, Clarks, Italy’s leading insurer, Generali Group, Swiss consumer goods major, Mibelle AG, America’s Hain Celestial, New Zealand’s dairy group, Fonterra and Middle East’s Ramdas Khimji .
Kishore is a firm believer in the maxim of ‘Rewrite Rules, Retain Values.’ He was born in Mumbai in 1961. In 2007, he authored the book, ‘It Happened in India.’ Kishore and his wife, Sangita have two daughters, Ashni and Avni.
