Nikhil is a Partner at Bain & Company. He leads the firm’s Strategy Practice for India, and is a key member of Bain’s Asia-Pacific Consumer Products and Industrial Goods & Services practices. He advises CEOs on issues of strategy, marketing, M&A, JVs and partnership, and organization design. His client work has been with companies in the consumer goods, financial services, automotive, agricultural equipment, and pharmaceuticals sectors. Nikhil’s clients are leading Indian companies, as well as the India and Asia-Pacific headquarters of major multinationals operating in the region.


Nikhil’s work has also included addressing public policy issues (digital identity, “India Stack” API usage and business ecosystem development, data and privacy, price controls, sugar tax, etc.) At the Bankinter Innovation Foundation (a Madrid, Spain based forum), where he is a member, Nikhil has also spoken about his work on “Technology and Inequality” and the Future of Labor in India. Earlier this year, he presented Bain’s recent work on “Future of Consumption in Fast Growing Markets – India 2030” at World Economic Forum, Davos.


Alongside client service work, Nikhil has led Bain’s intellectual property development in key areas. His 2016 article series marking 25 years of liberalization in Mint (a leading business daily) was published as a book by Penguin-RandomHouse in 2107. Nikhil is a regular contributor to the business press in India, and has 30+ articles published across issues of strategy, scenario planning, innovation, customer experience, and sales & marketing imperatives in different sectors.


Nikhil has an MBA from IIM (Indian Institute of Management), Ahmedabad, and a B.A. (Honors) in Economics from Hans Raj College, University of Delhi.
